CSCS Mock Test 2025 – The CSCS Test (Construction Skills Certification Scheme Test) is an assessment designed to ensure that workers in the UK construction industry have the necessary knowledge of health, safety, and environment (HSE) practices to work safely on construction sites.

CSCS Exam Eligibility

To apply for a skilled CSCS card, an applicant must hold a nationally recognised construction related qualification.

If you do not have a recognised qualification, CSCS can issue you with a temporary card. However, before a temporary card can be issued you must be registered onto the appropriate qualification for your occupation.

CSCS does not deliver courses, qualifications or exams. Qualifications and training will need to be arranged with a college or training provider.

To find a college or training provider which delivers the qualification you need, enter the qualification name into the OFQUAL register of regulated qualifications.

All CSCS cards cost £36, except for the free Apprentice card, and payment must be made using a payment card.

CSCS Registration Process

All applications are made via CSCS Online. Employers, Training Providers and Third Parties must ensure they apply for cards using the correct account type.

Before starting an individual application:

• Use Card Finder to find the right type of card for your construction industry occupation, and level of experience. If you don’t hold the correct card it may result in you being refused entry to a construction site. To start the application process you should have the relevant training and experience within construction for the job role you are applying for.
• Have a scanned copy of your qualification certificate, or proof of registration to complete a qualification, or proof of professional body membership.
• Pass the appropriate level of the CITB Health, safety and environment test within the last two years. Have the test ID number from the top of the pass certificate ready.

How to Pass the CSCS Exam

All construction workers should hold the relevant CSCS card to access a construction site, but those attending site to perform a non-construction occupation should not be expected to carry a card.

If you work in a non-construction occupation or are on a short-term work experience placement for less than 30 days you do not need a card.

It is the responsibility of site managers to induct non-construction workers and those on short-term work experience before escorting them where appropriate.

CSCS is aware some sites insist everyone must hold a card and continues to work with industry to tackle the issue. Such practices result in legitimate, non-construction workers being incorrectly refused entry.
